Extreme tooth sensitivity healed in spite of missing enamel

"My front teeth have lost various amounts of their enamel (background story and information at Potential risks of orthodontic treatment, scroll to "Loss of enamel") but are doing fine otherwise. Recently after eating huge amounts of sugary dairy products without "compensating"[1] with high-enough doses of spirulina and other supplements, my most damaged front tooth started to become super sensitive all the way into the root area.

Even smacking my lips would trigger pain. I knew I had to become serious about helping that tooth remineralize[8] or I might lose it.

So I took even higher amounts of vitamin D (likely 50,000 IU a day, sometimes more) plus K2[2] than I normally do, and upped my mineral supplements as well as spirulina (I use the tablet form and allow the powder to thoroughly cover my teeth both to "shield" them from the food and nourish them directly), vitamin C and other things. To my knowledge, chlorella and other green superfoods (barleygreen, wheatgrass powder etc.) could work just as well.[9]

I also increased the frequency of xylitol rinsing[3] and regularly held morning urine in my mouth as long as possible[4]. It took about ten days during which the sensitivity kept decreasing until it was all gone - to my greatest relief."

A note re spirulina

Similar to chlorella (see "Shopping for chlorella products" under CGF), spirulina can be contaminated by metallic trace elements. Spirulina can also harbour so-called cyanotoxins and/or other bacteria. Its mineral content (potassium, calcium, chromium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, selenium, sodium, zinc and fluorine) will greatly vary as well.

For both reasons (increased mineral content and avoiding contamination) make very sure to only use organic spirulina.

Hole has closed up

"A gap had appeared on the bottom of one of my back teeth, I could feel it with my tongue and had to be careful about food getting in there. Well last night I realized the gap had closed up!!

I do credit urine therapy[4], also daily intake of a concoction I came up with of diatomaceous earth[5], blackstrap molasses[6] and apple cider vinegar in water, with some drops of Lugol's iodine[7], and taking a tablespoon or more of gelatin every day.  All bone/teeth builders!  :D" (credits: J.R.)

5 Diatomaceous earth is a powdery whitish substance mostly consisting of the shells of fossilised diatoms (a major group of algae). Dried diatomaceous earth consists of up to 90% silica (silicon dioxide, SiO2). Very interestingly, silica seems to be an excellent source of calcium, see Silica from horsetail.
